SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Kathrin Busch is Professor for Theory of Design at UdK Berlin who has contributed to the discourse on the relation between research, the philosophy of exhibitions and the contemporary fine arts. PI Busch’s research develops an epistemology of art through posing questions on the aesthetic conditions of knowledge. The concept of artistic research is thus framed as a self-contained form of knowledge that is not necessarily implemented or communicated through traditional scientific channels. She has received numerous grants for her research from the Schweizer Nationalfonds, DFG (German Research Council) and State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg for Sciences, Research and Arts.
