SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Stephan Günzel is currently visiting professor and head of the department of media studies at TU Berlin. As a philosopher and media theorist, his research focuses on spatiality, image and media theory. He is a renowned expert on spatial theory and has published relevant anthologies and reference works on the subject as well as numerous papers in the field of video game studies. In this context he investigates the possibilities and implications of VR- and AR-technologies in gaming, social media, automobile-navigation, surveillance etc.
