SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Norbert Palz is Professor for Digital and Experimental Design and Vice President at the Universität der Künste. His research is concerned with digital craft and vernacular knowledge, artistic strategies in digital design-processes and the artistic and architectural avant-garde of the post-war period in Europe. Palz firstly trained as an architectural draftsman and then studied architecture at Technische Universität Berlin. After working in the iconic architectural offices of NOX (Lars Spuybroek) and UN Studio (Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos), he later founded the architectural practice TARGADESIGN in Berlin. He holds a PhD from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and was formerly Professor for Digital Design and Construction at Münster School of Architecture. Palz has received research funding from the EU Horizon 2020 program and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks program. He is a member of the Architectural Association of Rheinland Pfalz and a member of the Supervisory Board of the European Training Network “ArcInTex – Connecting Architecture, Textiles and Interaction Design.”
